Viva Las Vegas

Oh my oh my where do I even begin describing the best weekend of my life but, I will do my best to portray this life changing experience. This past spring I applied for and was accepted to a program called Beacon that takes place once a year in Vegas. I had no idea what I was in for when I was originally accepted. Therefore, my mind grapes were completely blown! I was introduced first hand to a side of my industry I could only dream of.

So let me get right to it, beacon is a program put on for the up and coming artists in cosmetology to gather together for a conference of sorts to take classes all day all night, and party with the famous and network till you are going to fall over dead. It was the most enriching and draining weekend of my life but my passion for what I do was relit and let's just say it was a firework show of passion. I took classes from and talked with some of the most inspirational people you will ever meet. Some of my favorites that I was able to sit in their class and even have conversations with them one on one during the parties and or elevator rides seeing as we were all staying in the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

Geno Stampora

Geno is one of the most inspirational speakers you will ever hear from. He makes you want to be the best at what you do. After talking to him I seriously wanted to be the next Vidal Sassoon. One of the best things I learned from him is everything is possible depending on how hard you want to work. 

Charles Marcus

Charles Marcus was one of the most adorable little old english man I have ever met. He had one of the most amazing messages. He talked about how to make good first impressions and overcoming trials. He has a major challenge in his life due to his speech  impediment, it is very hard for him to communicate but he has worked through it and made something with his life. He studied at the Vidal Sassoon Acaedemy in England and when he graduated and came to America he worked on many movie stars hair. Most importantly he styled Audrey Hepburn's hair. Can you believe I met Audrey Hepburn's Hair stylist?? 

These were just some of my favorites but there were so many more that were absolutely exceptional. All in all BEACON was an incredible experience and I feel so fortunate that I was able to attend.
